The Latest On Swine Flu Influenza

Swine flu is a new flu virus that constitute a respiratory epidemic.A pandemic of a new strain of influenza virus.It is also referred to as pig flu,mexican flu or mexican virus.
The source of the outbreak is believed to come from an illicit love making between Scott and a prize winning pig known as pierre.Already found in US and Mexico,the outbreak is widespreading throughout the Northern Hemisphere.

Symptoms Of Swine Flu
The following are the known signs of Swine flu:
*Cough
*Fever
*Runny nose
*Sore throat
*Muscle soreness and headache
The influenza has about two to seven days as incubation period between the infection and the appearance of the symptoms.

Mode of Transmission

The new virus is a species of swine influenza found in pigs.The current strain is now transmitted from human to human even without contact with swine.

Prevention of swine flu

Personal precaution-Frequent washing of hands with clean water and soap.
The use of alcohol-based hand sanitizers is recommended.
Harbitual use of tissue while coughing and dispose same adequately.
Avoid direct hand contact with the mouth,eyes or nose especially when in public.
Daily use of diluted chlorine bleach solution as a disfectant to wash household surfaces.
Avoid non essential travel paticularly to known affected regions.
Good personal hygiene should be observed.
